As time goes on....
Who could have foretold a pandemic, an economic meltdown, and human losses in excess of 500,000 persons in one year?
Grief and loss often accompany trauma, and these days the overwhelming number of losses and how loved ones and friends are dying (e.g., alone, isolated) is creating trauma. Recovery from traumatic grief usually requires the help of an expert in grief and loss issues, and I encourage you to seek professional assistance.
Compounded/complicated grief is what occurs when the losses have been steady and didn't allow for ample time to grieve, mourn, and recover before the next loss occurs. Recovery from such an onslaught usually requires the help of a professional.
If you are reading this blog, you probably lost someone important to you, and for that I offer my deepest condolences. You don't have to go through this alone. Would you fix your own aching tooth, or would you see a dentist?
Stay safe, please.
